"The director general of military operations of Pakistan called the director general of military operations of India at 15:35 earlier this afternoon. It was agreed between them that both sides would stop all fighting and military action on land and in the air and sea, with effect from 17:00 Indian Standard Time, today. Instructions have been given on both sides to give effect to this understanding," Misri told a briefing.The Directors General of Military Operations of India and Pakistan will have another talk on May 12, Misri also said.Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated following the terrorist attack near the town of Pahalgam in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, which killed 26 people, including one Nepalese citizen. The terrorist-linked Resistance Front insurgent group claimed responsibility for the attack.
