Russian President Vladimir Putin has been closely monitoring the crisis in the Middle East, Peskov said. The president is being briefed by the Foreign and Defense ministries and the foreign intelligence service.
"At the request of the head of state, the Russian Foreign Ministry is preparing a detailed statement that will be shared with the United Nations," he said.
Israel launched strikes on Iran early on Friday, prompting Iran to vow retaliation. The Israeli military said that Iran’s top three military officials had been killed in the operation that targeted the Iranian military command and nuclear sites.
