Robert Vadra, husband of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, has generally been in the spotlight for cases of alleged money laundering and land grabbing.
India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday labeled Congress' first family --the Gandhis -- as the "most corrupt family in Indian politics".
The BJP's remarks came after the Rajasthan High Court (HC) rejected a petition filed by Robert Vadra, son-in-law of former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, seeking cancellation of a money laundering case against him.

Guilty of Money Laundering?

The matter pertains to a probe by India's premier money laundering investigating agency Enforcement Directorate, which is probing the purchase of a land parcel by Vadra's company Skylight Hospitality in Rajasthan's Bikaner city.
It is alleged that Vadra and his mother used illegal means to acquire the property.
BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia urged Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi to clarify the corruption allegations levied against Vadra when the Congress ruled India, as well as the northern states of Haryana and Rajasthan.
Vadra faces multiple cases of land grabbing and dubious business dealing in both the states.
"This is a 'kattar paapi parivaar' (staunchly immoral family) of India. Its only work has been to do corruption and grabbing land to hand over to Robert Vadra," Bhatia alleged.
"They are the most corrupt family in Indian politics. Three members of the family are out on bail in corruption cases. It is a serious matter of concern for a government with zero tolerance for corruption," he added.
Congress, the country's main opposition party, has denied the allegations against Vadra, accusing the BJP of running a politically motivated witch hunt against him.
