India's army chief announced that India is going to engage in producing niche or advanced military technologies.“Of the more than six lakh (600,000) AK-203 assault rifles, we will receive 70,000 within 32 months," he said. "The indigenous content in these will be between 5 and 17 percent. The Rest will be 100 percent indigenous.”The indigenous production of AK-203 is set to kick off at the facilities of Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited in Uttar Pradesh's city of Korwa, making India the first foreign country to make the AK-200 version of the world-famous Kalashnikov assault rifles.But which countries are the major competitors for this version? India's army chief announced that India is going to engage in producing niche or advanced military technologies.
