In 2016, Indian troops carried out surgical strikes on terror launchpads across the Line of Control following an attack on a border camo in Uri by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed* militants.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday lashed out at Congress politician Digvijaya Singh following his statement on the Pulwama attack and subsequent surgical strike.
During the ongoing “Bharat Jodo Yatra” (Unite India Campaign) in Jammu and Kashmir, senior Congress politician and former state chief of Madhya Pradesh Digvijaya Singh claimed that the federal government was yet to submit "proof" on both 2016 surgical strike and 2019 Pulwama attack.

“Pulwama has been a hotbed of terrorism and every car is checked. A Scorpio car comes from the wrong side. Why was there no checking? Then there is a collision and 40 of our jawans are killed. To date, the government has not given information about the incident in parliament or in public," the Congress politician said, while addressing a public rally in Jammu.

“They talk about surgical strike - that we killed these many people. But there is no proof," he further stated.
Soon after he made the statement, the BJP hit out at him, saying that Congress “don't have patriotism left in them now”.

“It is the character of the Congress party to make irresponsible statements. The country will not tolerate anyone speaking against our security forces. Due to their hate towards PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi & Digvijaya Singh don't have patriotism left in them now,” BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said.

Labeling Congress a “Pak Parast Party” (Pro Pakistan Party), another BJP spokesperson, Shehzad Poonwalla, said that the Grand Old Party is echoing Pakistan's narrative on Pulwama, and even suggested they "like" to attack the morale of the Indian Army.
