US billionaire Elon Musk replaced Louis Vuitton chief Bernard Arnaut as the world's richest person after Tesla stocks surged by more than 100 percent on Monday. On Tuesday, the Tesla and SpaceX founder was valued at $187 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.Last year, Musk became the first person in history to lose over $200 billion in net worth following his controversial $44 billion acquisition of social media giant Twitter; the year saw a massive slide in Tesla shares.Musk has remained in second place since mid-December. But with Tesla shares showing 70 percent growth in February, he's back to the top of the list. In the Billionaires Index, he is now followed by Arnault, whose fortune stands at 185 billion, while Amazon owner Jeff Bezos rounds off the top-3 with a net worth of $117 billion. At the moment, Mukesh Ambani is the lone Indian in the top 10, with an $81.1 billion valuation.

US billionaire Elon Musk replaced Louis Vuitton chief Bernard Arnaut as the world's richest person after Tesla stocks surged by more than 100 percent on Monday. On Tuesday, the Tesla and SpaceX founder was valued at $187 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
