The INS Mormugao, India's latest stealth guided missile destroyer, successfully test fired the Brahmos Supersonic cruise missile from the sea, hitting the "bull's-eye" while showcasing its firepower in the country's territorial waters, the Indian Navy said in a tweet on Sunday. As per a Navy release, the missile carrier's communication and weapons systems will not only prove their mettle in the current age, but will satisfy the future needs of the force as well. With a displacement of just about 7,400 tons, the Mormugao has a length of 163 metres and is 17 metres wide.The missile destroyer is equipped with a series of sophisticated domestically produced weapons, including numerous surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles, anti-submarine rocket launchers, torpedo launchers, and an advanced combat management system.
