Newly appointed Twitter boss Linda Yaccarino was mercilessly trolled on the microblogging platform after she promised to "transform" the company in her first set of tweets on Sunday."I've long been inspired by [Musk's] vision to create a brighter future. I'm excited to help bring this vision to Twitter and transform this business together!" Yaccarino posted on the popular and influential messaging app."I'm not as prolific as Elon Musk (yet!), but I'm just as committed to the future of this platform. Your feedback is VITAL to that future. I'm here for all of it. Let's keep the conversation going and build Twitter 2.0 together!" she added. However, Yaccarino's tweet about "transforming" the San Francisco-based technology giant wasn't appreciated by netizens as they urged her to keep Twitter the way it was before Musk took control of the social network in a $44Bln acquisition last October.Others questioned her regarding her connection with the World Economic Forum and her thoughts on "free speech"."I think many avid users don't want Twitter 'transformed' (which is WEF [World Economic Forum] speak, like 'reimagine' or 'reshape'), we would like for it to work how it used to (seeing your followers/vice versa) without censorship, shadow banning, interference or other collusion. Back to the basics of what made this platform so unique and valuable," one user posted."Your involvement with the WEF and Ad Council, both of which promote state-sponsored propaganda, censorship, and totalitarianism under the guise of 'public/private partnerships', is the elephant in the room and needs to be considered," a second said."Twitter has already been 'transformed'. Leave it alone. I have a feeling I won't be using Twitter much longer," a third wailed. It was the first time Yaccarino - who will now be stepping down from her job as head of advertising sales at NBCUniversal - has spoken about her association with Twitter which was announced by Musk earlier this week. Before she was appointed as Twitter chief executive, several American press reports suggested that Yaccarino has long admired Musk and even backed his multi-billion dollar takeover of the company last year.Yaccarino interviewed the Tesla founder last month in Miami while he was participating in an advertising conference.
