The first phase of “Rozgar Mela” (employment fair) was launched by Prime Minister Modi on October 22, 2022. The fair was launched to provide 1 million government jobs.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday distributed more than 71,000 government appointment letters to newly-inducted recruits as part of the “Rozgar Mela” via video conference.
Starting his virtual address by congratulating the new appointees and their families, Modi underlined how during the last nine years, there has been a great focus on boosting employment opportunities in the country.
Every plan and policy of the government, "be it building modern infrastructure or rural development, acts as a door to generating employment for the youth.”
The Prime Minister said that over the last nine years, "the government has also given priority to making the recruitment process faster, more transparent and fair."

Today, Modi added, the entire process from applying to getting the results has moved online.
