Indian cricketer Shubman Gill and his sister Shahneel Gill received vile abuse on social media after the former's side Gujarat Titans (GT) eliminated Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday. This came after Shubman played a key role in RCB's ouster from the prestigious competition. After Kohli's record seventh IPL century guided his team to a healthy total of 197/5, the young Gujarat Titans batter smashed a blistering 104 off 52 deliveries, thus ending RCB's sojourn in the cash-rich league. Ironically, RCB has never won the IPL in the competition's 16-year history despite Kohli's services throughout all these seasons and his team's six-wicket defeat at the hands of GT added another dark chapter in the master batter's career.As Shubman's hundred denied Kohli and his side a chance to compete in the playoffs of the competition, the latter's admirers vent out their anger by trolling the former as well as his sister.However, another section of cricket lovers came out in support of the brother-sister duo, calling out RCB fans for their toxic hate for the Gills."One of the main reason I can’t stand RCB and hope they never win the trophy is cause of their toxic fan base. Abusing Gill and now his sister and all Gill did was his job for the team that employs him," another added.

Indian cricketer Shubman Gill and his sister Shahneel Gill received vile abuse on social media after the former's side Gujarat Titans (GT) eliminated Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday.
This came after Shubman played a key role in RCB's ouster from the prestigious competition.

Shahneel's post on a social network after her brother's team's victory over RCB where she wrote, "what a wholesum day" along with pictures from the game, was inundated with hateful comments.
However, another section of cricket lovers came out in support of the brother-sister duo, calling out RCB fans for their toxic hate for the Gills.
"Look at the tweets today for Shubhman Gill and his sister. Man this is why I hated when Kohli - Anushka pardoned that "IIT graduate" who gave rape threat to vamika. Some of these guys need to be behind bars and careers ruined. He should have been made an example to stop all this," a user said on Twitter.
"One of the main reason I can’t stand RCB and hope they never win the trophy is cause of their toxic fan base. Abusing Gill and now his sister and all Gill did was his job for the team that employs him," another added.
