The 2023 Public Opinion Polls: Chinese Outlook on International Security was conducted by The University, an influential Chinese university which is also the alma mater of President Xi Jinping.
A new survey conducted on Chinese citizens' outlook on different countries has found that India is the least popular of all the countries, trailing even the United States.

The survey findings show that only around eight percent of the respondents hold “favourable” or “somewhat favourable” views about India, with which Beijing has been involved in a military standoff in the eastern Ladakh region since April-May 2020.

Over 30 percent of the respondents believe that India has a “great” or “somewhat great” impact on China’s national security.

Most Chinese Citizens Blame Collective West for Ukraine Conflict

At 80 percent, an overwhelming majority of survey respondents said that the US and its Western allies should be held the “most accountable” for precipitating the Ukraine conflict last year.
Less than 10 percent of the respondents pinned the blame on Russia, per the survey findings.

Around 34.1 percent of the respondents rated the impact of the ongoing Ukraine crisis on civilian life as the “most important issue”. Chinese people’s safety and economic interests in Ukraine and the impact on the global energy supply chains have been ranked as the next most important issues in the ongoing Ukraine conflict.

Over 15 percent of Chinese citizens said that Russia’s security concerns about the eastward expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was the “most important issue in the Ukrainian crisis”, per survey findings.
