BJP Launches Outreach Drive to Mark 9 Years in Gov't

The ruling party has planned a massive, nationwide, month-long special contact campaign, starting today.

The party in a statement said that the country has witnessed “unprecedented” development in every sector with the mantra of "nation first" over the past nine years.

As part of the outreach campaign, federal ministers, national office bearers of the party as well as party workers will hold public meetings in all 396 parliamentary seats. Apart from this, 51 rallies of senior leaders of the party have also been planned.
Along with this, several rallies will also be organised in poll-bound states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana.

How BJP Came to Power?

In 2014, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) formed the government after it had won 336 of the 543 seats during the parliamentary polls.
In 2019 general elections, the BJP again won a resounding victory as the party alone clinched 303 seats out of 543, yet as an alliance they took 353 seats.
Both, the 2014 and 2019 parliamentary elections, were contested under the leadership of Narendra Modi. He took the oath of office as India's Prime Minister for the first time on 26 May 2014 and was sworn in for the second time on 30 May 2019.
