Olympic champions and wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Sakshee Mallikh have been protesting against Wrestler Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh since January, demanding his resignation.
Olympic medalist Sakhsee Mallikh said that she and other protesting wrestlers would not participate in September's Asian Games if Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh keeps his position.

The Asian Games are scheduled to be held in China in September. If the protesting wrestlers withdraw from the tournament, it will be a blow for India as Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat were gold medalists at the 2018 Asian Games.

Top Indian wrestlers, including Asian and Commonwealth Games medalist Vinesh Phogat, Olympic medalist Bajrang Punia, and Sakshee Malikkh are demanding an investigation of Singh's case related to sexual harassment allegations and are calling for an impartial probe.
The wrestlers announced an ultimatum to the authorities to complete the investigation by June 15. Two information reports (FIRs) against the WFI chief have already been filed.
