The previous Guinness World Record was made in 2004 by Indian doctors who had removed 13-cm (5.11 in) kidney stone from a patient. While the heaviest kidney stone that was removed was of 620 g from Pakistan in 2008.
The Sri Lankan Army doctors have achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new Guinness World Record for extracting the world's largest and heaviest kidney stone (calculus) from a patient.
The massive stone, weighing an astonishing 801 g and measuring 13.372 cm in length, was successfully extracted by doctors at Colombo Army Hospital during a major surgical procedure on June 1.
The pictures of the doctors along with the kidney stone are doing the rounds on the internet, grabbing everyone's attention.
