In April, a drone was reportedly spotted hovering over the residence of Delhi State Chief and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi. The area also comes under the official red no-fly zone.
Delhi Police have initiated a probe following a report of an unidentified drone flying over Indian
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official residence in India's capital on Monday.
According to media reports, the
Special Protection Group (SPG) – an elite force that protects the prime minister –
sighted the drone at around 5 a.m. (IST) and informed the Delhi Police at around 5: 30 a.m.
Soon after receiving the information, the
Delhi Police quickly launched a search operation to track the drone. However, so far nothing could be detected.
“Information was received about an unidentified flying object near the PM's residence. Thorough searches were made in nearby areas. But no such object was detected. The air traffic control room (ATC) was also contacted. They also didn't detect any such flying object near the PM's residence,” the Delhi Police said in a statement.
