Kashmir Farmers Embark on 'Aroma Mission' to Revive Lavender Cultivation

'Aroma Mission': the Jammu and Kashmir authorities are encouraging residents to cultivate lavender.
Kashmiri residents are being offered assistance in cultivating lavender flowers to produce oil at state-owned processing units.
The farmers are then able to sell their produce in free markets.
Shabir Ahmed Bhat, who is in charge of the Jammu and Kashmir government’s lavender farm, told Sputnik that this year, they have planted more than 200,000 cuttings of lavender which will get ready by November and then they will distribute them among the people.
