Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar on Sunday admitted that the authorities in Kiev carried out an attack on the Crimean Bridge in autumn of 2022, killing three people, and causing part of the road section to collapse into the sea.The revelation comes almost one year after the deadly explosion on the bridge, which caused significant damage. Until now, Kiev had refused to take responsibility for the attack on the 19-km long bridge - the longest in Europe and which connects the Crimean Peninsula with mainland Russia's Krasnodar region, yet its officials gloated over the attack in Twitter posts. On October 8, 2022, the landmark Crimean Bridge connecting the peninsula to Russia's mainland was damaged as a result of a truck explosion which Moscow believes was carried out by the Ukrainian special services. Moscow said on May 5 that the railway traffic on the bridge had been completely restored, and the bridge itself had been completely repaired within seven months. To date, after the repair work had been completed, passenger cars, buses, and trains can cross the bridge, while trucks can hit the roads of the peninsula via the ferry crossing.

Indian newspaper the Hindustan Times actually called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a liar following the confessions of Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar about Kiev's involvement in attacking the Crimean Bridge.
Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar on Sunday admitted that the authorities in Kiev carried out an attack on the Crimean Bridge in autumn of 2022, killing three people, and causing part of the road section to collapse into the sea.
As the Indian newspaper notes, Maliar made a striking confession on Kiev’s involvement in the sabotage on the Crimean Bridge.
The revelation comes almost one year after the deadly explosion on the bridge, which caused significant damage. Until now, Kiev had refused to take responsibility for the attack on the 19-km long bridge - the longest in Europe and which
connects the Crimean Peninsula with mainland Russia's Krasnodar region, yet its officials gloated over the attack in Twitter posts.
On October 8, 2022, the landmark Crimean Bridge connecting the peninsula to Russia's mainland was damaged as a result of a
truck explosion which Moscow believes was carried out by the Ukrainian special services.
