Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Sikar city of Rajasthan on Thursday where he inaugurated several development projects and also addressed a public rally.
Narendra Modi on Thursday came down heavily on the newly-formed opposition's – Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) – saying that the name has been changed to hide their wrongdoings of the past.
The remarks from the Prime Minister came while he was addressing a public rally in the poll-bound state.
“Congress and its allies have changed their names just like the earlier fraud companies did. They have changed their name so that they can remove the stain of capitulating in front of terrorism. Their ways are similar to that of the country's enemy. The name INDIA is not to show their patriotism but with an intention to rob the country,” Modi said in his address.
The Prime Minister also hit out at the Congress-led state government over the recent “red diary” issue.

Notably, the controversy erupted on July 23 when Rajendra Gudha, a Congress politician, who was sacked from the state cabinet after raising questions regarding his own government over crimes against women in the state, produced a “red diary” in the state legislature. He claimed that it contained the details of alleged irregular financial transactions of State Chief Ashok Gehlot.
“The red diary is a fresh project of the Congress' 'jhooth ki dukan' (shop of lies). It is said that the dark deeds of the Congress are recorded in the diary, which will defeat the party in elections in the state,” he said while targeting the state government.
Meanwhile, he launched several development projects in the poll-bound state which include five new medical institutions in Chittorgarh, Dholpur, Sirohi, Sikard, and Sri Ganganagar along with six new Eklavya Residential Schools in Udaipur, Banswara, Pratapgarh and Dungarpur districts of the state.
He also released the 14th instalment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan), the scheme launched in February 2109 to provide financial assistance to farmers.
Under this scheme, INR 6,000 ($73.23) per year is given to the farmers in three equal instalments every four months.
