Supplies of crude oil to Asia hit record highs last month, mostly driven by India and China's imports of discounted Russian oil.
According to Refinitiv Oil Research, in July, crude oil imports to Asia reached a new peak, averaging 27.92 million barrels per day (bpd), which surpassed the previous records of May (27.35 million bpd) and June (27.53 million bpd).

China maintained its position as the leading oil supplier, providing 2.04 million bpd through both pipelines and maritime shipments. Beyond China, other major Asian buyers increased their imports in July, with India reaching a five-month high of 4.94 million bpd.

Notably, Indian refineries continue to consume Russian oil, with July's supply reaching a record high of 2.08 million bpd.
