Prime Minister Narendra Modi on late Saturday night congratulated the Indian Men’s Hockey team for their exceptional triumph in the Asian Championship Trophy 2023 and lauded the tireless dedication of the players.India on Saturday clinched their record fourth Asian Championship Trophy title by defeating Malaysia in the finals. With this India has become the most successful team in the Asian Championship Trophy ahead of Pakistan who has won the title three times.In the final match played at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai, India rallied from a two-goal deficit to secure a gripping 4-3 victory against a spirited Malaysian team in the final showdown of the Asian Championship.For India, Jugraj Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Gurjant Singh and Akashdeep Singh scored the goals while Abu Kamal Azrai, Razie Rahim, and Aminudin Muhamad scored for Malaysia.Federal Sports Minister Anurag Thakur also congratulated the triumphant team. Sharing the video of the moment India secured the victor, Thakur in a tweet praised the athletes for "clinching the Asian Championship Trophy for the fourth time."In another tweet, the minister shared his experience watching the match live at the stadium.Apart from Modi, Thakur and several other ministers, fans were also elated that India was making history.Now Team India will go on to participate in the Asian Games 2023 starting in Hangzhou in China from September 23.

Indian Men’s Hockey team for their exceptional triumph in the Asian Championship Trophy 2023 and lauded the tireless dedication of the players.
India on Saturday clinched their record fourth Asian Championship Trophy title by defeating Malaysia in the finals. With this India has become the most successful team in the Asian Championship Trophy ahead of Pakistan who has won the title three times.
In a
tweet, Modi said: “Congratulations to our Men's Hockey Team on the spectacular victory in the Asian Championship! This is India's 4th triumph and it showcases the tireless dedication, rigorous training and unyielding determination of our players. Their extraordinary performance has ignited immense pride across the nation. Best wishes to our players for their future endeavours.”
