New Delhi on Wednesday successfully test-fired the locally manufactured beyond visual range (BVR) air-to-air missile ASTRA from an LCA Tejas aircraft, the Indian Ministry of Defense (MoD) said in a statement.
The MoD added that the test was conducted by the warplane
from an elevation of over 6,000 meters "off the coast of Goa".
Besides, the statement mentioned that the launch of the missile from the combat jet was "textbook perfect."
"Tejas, LCA LSP-7 successfully fired the ASTRA
