Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated scientists from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Wednesday after the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the South Pole of the lunar surface.Modi joined the live streaming of the landing at ISRO’s Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bengaluru from Johannesburg in South Africa where he is attending the 15th BRICS Summit.While congratulating ISRO for the remarkable achievement in his virtual address, Modi said that he might be in South Africa but his heart has always been with the Chandrayaan mission.He said that it is a historic movement for a developed India.“I am also connected to the people of my country at this proud moment. It is the dawn of a new era,” he further said.Before Modi’s address, ISRO Chairman S Somanath announced that “India is on the Moon."

Modi Congratulates Successful Chandrayaan-3 Mission
India launched the Chandrayaan-3 mission on July 14. Prior to India, only the United States, Soviet Union and China had achieved a soft landing on the Moon, however, India has become the first country to achieve it at the South Pole of the lunar surface.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated scientists from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Wednesday after the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the South Pole of the lunar surface.
Modi joined the live streaming of the landing at ISRO’s Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bengaluru from Johannesburg in South Africa where he is attending the 15th BRICS Summit.
While congratulating ISRO for the remarkable achievement in his virtual address, Modi said that he might be in South Africa but his heart has always been with the
Chandrayaan mission.
“We are witness to the new flight of new India. New history has been written,” Modi said while adding that every Indian is celebrating today.
He said that it is a historic movement for a developed India.
“I am also connected to the people of my country at this proud moment. It is the dawn of a new era,” he further said.
Applauding the efforts of the scientists and the team of the mission, the PM stated: “No country has reached there (the South Pole of the Moon) before. With the hard work of our scientists, we have reached there.”
Before Modi’s address,
ISRO Chairman S Somanath announced that “India is on the Moon."
