G-20 Summit in New Delhi
The G-20 Leaders' Summit in New Delhi, set to be held from September 9 to 10, will be the culmination of India's G-20 presidency. As the host of the G-20 meet-up, India has withstood Western pressure on the issue of the Ukraine conflict and has refused to join the sanctions war against Russia.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also announced the inclusion of the African Union to the G-20 as a permanent member on Saturday.
According to Modi, the G-20 leaders adopted the New Delhi Summit Declaration on Saturday.

''I have received good news. Thanks to the hard work of our team, a consensus has been reached on the New Delhi G-20 Leaders' Summit Declaration. My proposal is to adopt this leadership declaration. I am announcing the adoption of this declaration,'' Modi said during the G20 summit's second session, 'One Family', in New Delhi.

India's G20 Sherpa, Amitabh Kant, called the development pathbreaking and revealed that the declaration received 100% consensus on all development and geopolitical issues.

''The New Delhi Leaders' Declaration focuses on: Strong, Sustainable, Balanced, and Inclusive Growth, Accelerating Progress on SDGs, Green Development Pact for a Sustainable Future, Multilateral Institutions for the 21st Century, Reinvigorating Multilateralism,'' Kant remarked during the G20 presidency press briefing after the adoption of the New Delhi Leaders' Declaration.

"The historical and path-breaking G-20 Declaration with 100% consensus on all developmental and geopolitical issues. The new geopolitical parameters are a powerful call for planet, people, peace, and prosperity in today's world. Demonstrates PM Narendra Modi's leadership in today's world," he elaborated.

Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted the acknowledgment of G-20 member states regarding India's concerns about the Global South and its strong emphasis on people-centered development, as per the Delhi Declaration.

"Today at the G-20 Summit, the New Delhi Leaders' Declaration is officially adopted. Narendra Modi's emphasis on human-centric globalization and our concerns about the Global South have found resonance and recognition. Thanking all G-20 members for their cooperation and support,'' stated Sitharaman, who also addressed the G20 presidency press briefing.

The New Delhi declaration's adoption is regarded as a significant victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. This achievement is especially remarkable when considering the reports of G-20 states facing difficulties in reaching an agreement due to conflicts involving Russia and Ukraine before the summit in New Delhi.

Inclusive growth and representing the voices of underdeveloped and developing countries in India have undoubtedly contributed to the adoption of the declaration.

One of the significant achievements of India's G-20 presidency is the admission of the African Union (AU) as a member of the powerful economic bloc.

India has urged the G-20 nations to accord the African Union, a coalition of 55 countries, with a prominent role in global institutions. This would be a significant opportunity for the continent to have representation on the global stage.
