Imran Khan's Cypher Case is related to a diplomatic document that reportedly went missing from his possession. His party alleged that it contained a US threat to oust Khan, the then-Pakistan prime minister, from power.
A Pakistani high court on Monday ordered to transfer former Pakistan Prime Minister and opposition leader Imran Khan to the high security Adiala Jail from the Attock district jail.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief is currently in Attock district jail in the Cypher Case.

Monday's order to shift PTI chief was issued by Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, Pakistani media reported.

Khan was sent to jail on 5 August, when he was convicted in the Toshakhana case (state treasury case). The PTI chief made a petition to the Islamabad High Court requesting that he be shifted from the Attock jail (Lahore) to a better class facility in Adiala jail (Rawalpindi). Justice Farooq, on 11 August, reserved the verdict on Khan's request for the court.

Even as the Islamabad court suspended the PTI chief's sentence in the Toshakhana case on 29 August, a special court directed Attock jail authorities to keep him in “judicial lockup” over the Cypher Case.

Owing to security reasons, special court hearings have been taking place at the Attock jail against the PTI chief in the Cypher Case.

Khan's lawyer Sher Afzal Marwa, following Monday's verdict, declared that they had “finally been granted justice from the IHC to the extent of transfer of Khan sahib".
