Citing the counteroffensive's needs, Kiev pushed its Western donors to step up military and financial aid.
The US has enough funds for military supplies to Kiev for a couple of weeks, John Kirby, US National Security Council spokesman.

“We still have some funds. I think they'll last us a few more weeks or so. But the lack of additional funding that we have requested will absolutely impact our ability to support Ukraine further into the fall and winter months,” he said in an interview with CNN.

Kirby added that the “shutdown” is fraught with negative consequences for arms supplies to Ukraine. This situation is possible as early as October 1.

“When winter comes, it will be very difficult for both armies to maneuver and act. Therefore, we want to provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with everything they need while favorable conditions on the ground remain,” Kirby added.
