On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Indian athletes for their record performance in the 19th Asian Games held in the Chinese city of Hangzhou.With 107 medals in Asia's Olympics, the Indian athletes collected their best-ever tally of medals at the Games.The first Asian Games were held in New Delhi in 1951 and in the 18 editions before Hangzhou, India's best tally in the event was 70, recorded in 2018 in Jakarta.However, according to Modi, the Indian athletes broke the 100-medal mark in Hangzhou through their "unwavering determination, relentless spirit and hard work."India's 107 medals include 28 gold, which the South Asian country attained due to a stellar display in shooting, athletics, and archery.India won five gold medals in archery, six in athletics, and seven in shooting.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Indian athletes for their record performance in the 19th Asian Games held in the Chinese city of Hangzhou.
With 107 medals in Asia's Olympics, the Indian athletes collected their
best-ever tally of medals at the Games.
The first Asian Games were held in New Delhi in 1951 and in the 18 editions before Hangzhou, India's best tally in the event was 70, recorded in 2018 in Jakarta.
However, according to Modi, the Indian athletes broke the 100-medal mark in Hangzhou through their "unwavering determination, relentless spirit and hard work."
"What a historic achievement for India at the Asian Games! The entire nation is overjoyed that our incredible athletes have brought home the highest ever total of 107 medals, the best ever performance in
the last 60 years," Modi wrote on Twitter, now renamed as X.
India's 107 medals include 28 gold, which the South Asian country attained due to a stellar display in shooting, athletics, and archery.
India won five gold medals in archery, six in athletics, and seven in shooting.
