On October 7, the Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise large-scale attack on Israel. After a massive bombing, Hamas militants penetrated into the southern border areas of the Jewish state.

The death toll from Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip has reached 1,200 people, and the number of injured people has topped 5,600 people, a spokesperson for the Palestinian Health Ministry said Thursday.

The death toll among Israeli citizens from the escalation of the conflict has risen to 1,200, with more than 2,700 people injured, Israeli officials said.
