The Russian president noted how the failed U.S. policy in the Middle East was one of the reasons that led to the current escalation between Israel and Hamas.
"This extensive tragedy is a consequence of the unsuccessful US policy, as their unilateral approach has brought the situation to a deadlock," he remarked.
The Russian leader additionally emphasized the importance of establishing an independent Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.
