In his speech, President Putin addressed various issues from energy security to multipolarity. He explained Russia's stance on the Palestine, supporting the creation of a Palestinian state.
Putin criticized Israel's policy of establishing new settlements in defiance of the previous UN decision.
"Israel's policy of building new settlements [in the West Bank] is among factors that have led to the current situation."

In addition, he clarified that the creation of sovereign Palestinian state is a necessity to stop the ongoing bloodshed.
"It is impossible to settle situation that led to violence without resolving fundamental political issues regarding creation of Palestinian state."

Furthermore, Russian president put the blame on the US for focusing on providing humanitarian aid to Palestinians instead of finding a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
Civilian casualties must be minimized, children and women on both sides must be left alone, and expansion of the conflict zone could lead to severe consequences, including in the energy sector, he added.

Global Economy Going Multipolar, Says Russian President Putin

The global economy is transitioning towards a multipolar model, characterized by multiple growth centers, President Putin said addressing the plenary session the Sixth Russian Energy Week.
Putin emphasized that Russia's national energy priority is to focus domestically on supplying the national market.

"Russia's basic priority in energy sector is to supply of national market, country will increase its capacity."

When asked about fuel prices, he said that priority should be given to fuel supplies to domestic consumers.
The president then elaborated on the transition towards a multipolar framework worldwide, and its implications for global energy security.

Five Largest Asian States Contribute to World Economy More Than US & EU

The contribution of the five largest Asian states to the world economy has already exceeded the total contribution of the United States and the European Union, and this gap will only grow in the next decade. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the plenary meeting of the Russian Energy Week.

“According to experts, today the contribution to the world economy of the five largest Asian economies - these are China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam - have exceeded the total share of the United States and all EU countries. And in the next decade, the gap will only increase, and there is no doubt about it," Putin said.

Russian Nuclear Industry Has No Competitors

Russian President proceeded to outline the current state of the nuclear power industry both within the country and its prowess in its nuclear projects abroad.

“The Russian engineering school for the construction and maintenance of nuclear power facilities is not only strong, but has practically no competitors at the global level. … Rosatom exports are simultaneously building 22 power units abroad. This is approximately 80% of the world market."

Moscow is not against participation of third countries in construction of Russian nuclear power plants abroad, Putin added.

Western Pressure Mitigated

Commenting on the economic pressure applied to Russia by Western countries, the Russian president stated that Russia quickly redirected oil supplies to markets in the South and East. However, their economic sanctions backfired, negatively impacting their economy's growth.

"EU countries are trying to completely abandon Russian energy resources, as a result their entire economy is at ground zero."

While Putin continued his critique of Western nations for their irrational energy policies, he also acknowledged the constructive impact of OPEC+ on global energy market.

"The actions of the West have jeopardized the global energy market, including the oil market, but OPEC+ countries are successfully copying with these challenges."

Putin on Ukraine Conflict: No Alternatives for Russia

Putin stated that Russia is responding to the conflict in Ukraine in the only way it can due to a lack of alternative solutions.

The president remarked that eventually it became evident that no peaceful methods could guarantee the security of the Russian Federation.

"Furthermore, the conflict there has been ongoing since 2014, and they have already disregarded the plan for peaceful resolution based on the Minsk Agreement. To make matters worse, they openly announced that they had no intention of following through, but instead, were manipulating us."

On February 24, 2022, Russia initiated a special military operation in Ukraine. Putin referred to its objective as "defending people who have suffered abuse and genocide from the Kiev government for the past eight years."
He stated that the it was mandatory; Russia had "no opportunity to do anything else, as the security risks were too high for alternative actions."
