Israel to Present Evidence That It Did Not Hit Gaza Hospital to UNSC: Foreign Minister
Israel will present a concrete evidence of its non-involvement in the attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip to the UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said.
“We have concrete evidence that Israel did not attack the Al Ahli Hospital. Furthermore, we are 100% sure that this hospital was hit by a failed rocket launch by the Islamic Jihad [movement] … This evidence will be presented in the UN Security Council meeting today for the whole international community to see,” Cohen said in a video address, posted on X.
The conclusion is based on the explosion's force and the characteristic sound of a falling projectile, as clearly depicted in the video from the scene.
Israeli PM Netanyahu's statement denying Israel's involvement in Gaza hospital strike is total failure: ex-member of Knesset to Sputnik Arabic
Former Arab member of the Knesset, Muhammad Hasan Kanaan, provided his view of what happened:
"The entire world witnessed and heard how Israeli aircraft targeted the Baptist hospital. Despite prior warnings to evacuate, the medical staff refused in order to continue their work. However, the Israeli forces decided to strike regardless. Israel has committed an atrocious crime, unprecedented even in the context of the First and Second World Wars. The Netanyahu gov't is now making every effort to evade responsibility for this reprehensible act that has shocked the entire world. Israel and its government must bear full accountability for this horrific crime, which is being widely discussed. The target of the strike was innocent civilians who were receiving medical treatment at the hospital."
