We don't stand for the kind of violence that Hamas perpetuated, but at the same time, near-genocidal violence perpetuated by Israeli forces has to be condemned", the parliamentarian told Sputnik India.Meanwhile, countries like the US must see the larger picture. "This is one of the unresolved issues of the previous century, and this century has to address it. One cannot wait for another holocaust", he added.Who Supports Israel?Rashid Alvi, former Indian parliamentarian and senior Congress politician, speaking with Sputnik India, said it is only the US and European nations who are supporting Israel. And, we have good relations with the Palestinians", Alvi told Sputnik India.The senior Congress politician said that "we condemned the Hamas attack on Israel, but what Israel is doing now is 'genocide'".At least 500 people died in Gaza on Tuesday night as a result of a bombing at the al-Ahli Arab Hospital allegedly carried out by Israel.Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that he had a talk with the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, amid the ongoing Palestine-Israel conflict and expressed his condolences over the loss of lives at the al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza.Alvi also said that people on social media seem to have formed an opinion that the war is all about Muslims vs. non-Muslim nations, which he called "unfortunate".

As the Palestine-Israel conflict escalates and the world seems to be picking sides, the Indian government, as well as political parties, have expressed commitment to the two-state solution.
Sputnik India spoke with Indian politicians from various parties to understand whether there is a common opinion among them on the issue of the conflict.
US Imperialism Has Shown Its Face

general secretary of the Communist Party of India, who was also part of a delegation that met the Palestinian ambassador in New Delhi on Tuesday to express solidarity with the Palestinians, told
Sputnik India that
Israel was continuously violating all norms and called the alleged Israeli attack on a Gaza hospital "cold-blooded".
"Israel is continuously violating all norms and the hospital massacre is the cruellest attack, claiming the lives of over 500 Palestinians, including women and children", Raja said.
Raja also slammed the US for its two-faced approach as, on the one hand, it is announcing million-dollar aid for Gaza, and at the same time, the US has blocked a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution for a humanitarian pause.
"Imperialist hypocrisy is killing thousands of innocent people", Raja said.
Last week, Russia and Brazil moved UNSC resolutions calling for a ceasefire in Gaza due to the worsening humanitarian crisis; however, the US vetoed both.

I think the large and powerful nations of the world have to ensure the UN resolution whereby simultaneously, the existence of two states, i.e., Israel and Palestine, is recognised and put into force", Jha stressed.

The senior Congress politician said that "we condemned the
Hamas attack on Israel, but what Israel is doing now is '
genocide'"."War is between Israel and Hamas. But, the way Israel bombarded the hospital is uncalled [for]. Killing innocent women and children shows the intent of Israel. Leaders across the world are condemning Israel, except America and European nations".
At least 500 people died in Gaza on Tuesday night as a
result of a bombing at the al-Ahli Arab Hospital allegedly carried out by Israel.
Speaking on India's position, Alvi said that: "India always had a non-aligned stand. We express our condolence to every single individual who died during this conflict, no matter which nation he/she belongs to".
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that he
had a talk with the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, amid the ongoing Palestine-Israel conflict and expressed his condolences over the loss of lives at the al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza.
"We will continue to send humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people. Shared our deep concern about the terrorism, violence and deteriorating security situation in the region. Reiterated India's long-standing principled position on the Israel-Palestine issue", Modi wrote on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
Alvi also said that people on social media seem to have formed an opinion that the war is all about Muslims vs. non-Muslim nations, which he called "unfortunate".
