Indian Street Dog Jaya Set to Travel Abroad With Own Passport & Visa
A stray female dog, Jaya, from Uttar Pradesh state's Varanasi city, is winning hearts as she has obtained her own passport and visa and is set to travel abroad with her new owner from the Netherlands.
During a visit to India's temple town Varanasi, Meral Bontenbel, a native of Amsterdam, discovered an everlasting companion in the form of a four-legged canine named Jaya, who is going to embark on a journey abroad.
While wandering around Varanasi city, Meral Bontenbel and her co-traveller were captivated by Jaya's warm and affectionate nature.
Jaya followed them wherever they went. However, an incident shook them as the pooch was attacked by a ferocious
dog on the street, leaving her injured.

Bontenbel made the necessary arrangements to ensure that Jaya could accompany her to the Netherlands. This included extending her stay in India by six months and obtaining a passport and visa for the
dog.
"I'm really happy to finally be able to take her along with me. It was a long-drawn process... I have always wanted to have a dog and I fell in love with her the first time she walked up to me", she added.
A video of Jaya and Bontenbel has gone viral on social media, drawing many reactions from netizens.
