Amidst the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, Israel imposed a blockade on the Gaza Strip. However, the blockade was later relaxed to allow the entry of humanitarian aid into the area.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is attacking Gaza City in the Gaza Strip from five different directions, the Al Arabiya broadcaster reported.
The Israeli forces are conducting the attack on the capital of the Gaza Strip from five directions accompanied by airstrikes and artillery shelling, the report added.
On October 7, Hamas launched a surprise large-scale rocket attack against Israel from the Gaza Strip and breached the border, killing and abducting people in neighboring Israeli communities. Israel launched retaliatory strikes and ordered a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to more than 2 million people, cutting off supplies of water, food, and fuel. The escalation of the conflict has resulted in the deaths of around 1,400 people in Israel and over 8,000 in the Gaza Strip.
UN Humanitarian Chief Calls Israeli Attack on Jabalia Refugee Camp 'Atrocity'
The Israeli attack on the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip is an "atrocity," Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths said on Wednesday.
"Scores of civilians have reportedly been killed in Gaza following recent attacks on the Jabalia refugee camp. This is just the latest atrocity to befall the people of Gaza where the fighting has entered an even more terrifying phase, with increasingly dreadful humanitarian consequences," Griffiths said in a statement.
Palestine Welcomes Decision of Chile, Colombia to Recall Ambassadors to Israel - Ministry
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday welcomed the decision of Chile and Colombia to recall their ambassadors to Israel for consultations amid the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
On Tuesday, Chilean President Gabriel Boric said the country was recalling its ambassador to Israel for consultations due to "violations of international humanitarian law" by Israel in the Gaza Strip. Colombian President Gustavo Petro followed suit, accusing Israel of the "massacre of the Palestinian people."
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates [of Palestine] welcomes the positions of Chile and Colombia that reject the genocide facing our people in Gaza," the Palestinian Foreign Ministry wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Hamas' Military Wing Says 7 hostages Killed in Bombing of Jabalia Refugee Camp on October 31
Hamas' military wing, the Qassam Brigades, said on Wednesday that seven hostages, including three foreigners, were killed as a result of Israel's strike on the Jabalia refugee camp on October 31.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday that it had hit the Jabalia camp in the Gaza Strip, adding that the death of civilians is a consequence of a "tragedy of war." According to the exclave’s Interior Ministry, at least 400 people in the refugee camp were killed and injured after Israeli air attacks.
"The Qassam Brigades announce the killing of seven civilian hostages, including three foreign passport holders, in the Jabalia massacre yesterday," the military wing said in a statement.
