The former Pakistani president is hopeful that his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will win the upcoming elections and that the "days of public difficulties" will be over soon after.
Days after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced February 8, 2024, as the date for polls in the country to elect a new federal government, former Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed confidence in his son and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s victory.
With the ECP putting an end to months-long uncertainty over the schedule of the elections, all major political parties have begun preparing for the same, the reports said.
According to reports, Zardari while welcoming the announcement of the election date said, "the sun of February 8 will rise with the message of Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s victory".
“A few days of the public’s difficulties are left. The PPP will bring an end to the people’s ordeals,” the former president of Pakistan was quoted as saying.
