As the quality of air in Delhi continues to deteriorate, former Congress President Sonia Gandhi has taken her doctor's advice to temporarily leave the city and move to Rajasthan's capital city Jaipur, Indian media reported.
The 76-year-old Sonia Gandhi suffers from respiratory problems and has been asked by doctors to move for a short while to a place where the air quality is better.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, Congress's former leader and Sonia Gandhi's son, will meet his mother in Jaipur on Tuesday evening.
Rahul Gandhi is working on the Congress party election campaign and addressing rallies in various states where polling is about to be held in the upcoming days.
In 2023, Sonia Gandhi was twice admitted to hospital in January and September.
In January, too, she was admitted to the hospital because of respiratory issues. In 2020, Sonia Gandhi temporarily shifted to Goa as air quality levels spiked.

Delhi's air remained in the 'very poor' category on Tuesday morning, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 375 (very poor), marking a slight improvement from Monday's 403 (severe) level. Meanwhile, AQI in Jaipur is 72, in the 'moderate' category.
