Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday declared that 11 more districts – Tangail, Munshiganj, Narayanganj, Kishoreganj, Jamalpur, Brahmanbaria, Meherpur, Jhenaidah, Patuakhali, Sylhet, and Moulvibazar – are now free of any landless and homeless people, bringing the total to 32 districts, media reported.Through a virtual platform, the PM officially inaugurated the infrastructures from her official residence, Ganabhaban, to the recipients who were digitally connected to the occasion.Previously, 21 districts were designated as landless and family-free districts, including Panchagarh, Magura, Madaripur, Gazipur, Narsingdi, Joypurhat, Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Chuadanga, Manikganj, Rajbari, Mymensingh, Sherpur, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Naogaon, Natore, Pabna, Kushtia, Pirojpur, and Jhalakathi.

Including the 11 districts newly-announced by the prime minister, Bangladesh now has 32 districts free of homeless and landless people.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday declared that 11 more districts – Tangail, Munshiganj, Narayanganj, Kishoreganj, Jamalpur, Brahmanbaria, Meherpur, Jhenaidah, Patuakhali, Sylhet, and Moulvibazar – are now free of any landless and homeless people, bringing the total to 32 districts, media reported.
At the same time, Hasina unveiled 10,041 infrastructure projects, 157 of which had a total estimated cost of Taka 10 trillion ($9 billion). This includes 5,397 Ashrayan houses under a state-funded initiative to build houses for internally displaced and homeless persons.
