Moscow welcomes the agreement on a four-day humanitarian pause in the Gaza Strip reached between Israel and Hamas, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, Palestinian movement Hamas confirmed that it had agreed with Israel on a four-day truce in the Gaza Strip with the cessation of all hostilities and the release of 50 Israeli hostages in return for 150 Palestinian prisoners.

"Moscow welcomes the agreement between Israel and Hamas on a four-day humanitarian pause. This is exactly what Russia has been calling for since the beginning of the escalation of the conflict," Zakharova said.

Palestinian movement Hamas said in a statement on Wednesday that it has agreed with Israel on a four-day truce in the Gaza Strip with the cessation of all hostilities and the release of 50 Israeli hostages in return for 150 Palestinian prisoners.

Moreover, the movement said Israel has agreed to "completely suspend flights of its aviation in the southern part of the country for four days and to suspend flights for six hours, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. [local time], in the northern part."

Israel has agreed to ensure the free movement of Palestinians from the north to the south of the Gaza Strip during the four-day humanitarian truce, the statement said.

The Israeli military conducted an operation in the headquarters of Hamas' northern brigade in the Gaza Strip, and destroyed an outpost and dozens of militants, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Wednesday.

In addition, the IDF said that it uncovered a site of rocket production.

UN Secretary-General Calls Israel-Hamas Agreement 'Important Step'
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Wednesday that the temporary ceasefire and hostage exchange agreement reached between Israel and Hamas was an "important step" while "much more needs to be done."
"I welcome the agreement reached by Israel & Hamas. It‘s an important step in the right direction, but much more needs to be done. The UN will mobilize all its capacities to support the implementation & maximize positive impact on the humanitarian situation in Gaza," Guterres posted on social media.

The Lebanese movement Hezbollah will comply with the truce reached between Israel and Hamas, Al Jazeera reported on Wednesday, citing a source in the movement.
Earlier in the day, Palestinian movement Hamas confirmed that it had agreed with Israel on a four-day truce in the Gaza Strip with the cessation of all hostilities and the release of 50 Israeli hostages in return for 150 Palestinian prisoners. Hamas Political Bureau member Mousa Abu Marzouq told Al Jazeera that the humanitarian pause will begin on November 23 at 08:00 GMT.

A humanitarian pause between Israel and Hamas may start at 04:30 GMT on November 23, the i24 broadcaster reported on Wednesday.
According to the broadcaster, Hamas will hand over to Israel a preliminary list of 10 prisoners on Wednesday evening, if it is agreed upon, the Israeli side will hand over to the Palestinian movement a list of prisoners whom they will be willing to release in return.

The deal to release hostages reached between the Palestinian Hamas movement and Israel will take place in two stages, with Hamas first releasing 50 people in four days, and then up to 30 people in three days, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the deal.
During the first four days, 30 children, eight mothers and 12 other women will be released, the newspaper said, adding that the first hostages could be freed as early as Thursday. During the second phase, non-Israeli hostages could be released.
