The Taliban* has officially taken control of Afghanistan's diplomatic missions in India, including its embassy in New Delhi, the Afghan Embassy confirmed in a post on X (formerly Twitter). The embassy urged the Indian government to play a pivotal role in forming an inclusive government in Afghanistan. According to a video shared by Kabul-based media outlet Tolo News, the acting Consul Generals of Afghanistan in Hyderabad and Mumbai, Sayed Mohammad Ibrahimkhil and Zakia Wardak, respectively, would now be responsible for the consulate services of the country's embassy in New Delhi.Late last month, staffers at the Afghan Embassy claimed that it was forced to shut down due to non-cooperation by the Indian government, which they stated was doing so on the Taliban's insistence. However, the Taliban, subsequently declared the claim as false, emphasising that all diplomatic missions in India were open and working normally. Additionally, Kabul's present rulers pointed out that the Afghan Embassy and the war-torn nation's other diplomatic missions in India, including the one in Mumbai were in constant touch with the Taliban officials.*under UN sanctions
