India's video industry has surpassed regional heavyweights South Korea and Australia in value, but still lags behind China and Japan, according to research by Media Partners Asia (MPA). The industry earned $13 billion this year and revenue is expected to increase to $17 billion by 2028.According to the research, paid TV subscription fees increased uniformly throughout Asia-Pacific outside of China, but revenue fell in significant economies such as Japan and India. While paid TV advertising declined in South Korea, it increased in India. Except for China, free TV advertising fell 2% in the region, with notable drops in South Korea, Australia, and Indonesia.The analysis projected that revenues from the Asian-Pacific video sector will reach $165 billion by 2028, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 2.6%.China will evolve to be the most developed country in the world in the industry by 2028, with a revenue of $70 billion, growing at a 1.7% annual rate followed by Japan, India, South Korea, Australia, and Indonesia with $35, $17, $12, and nearly $4 billion, respectively.

India's video industry has surpassed regional heavyweights South Korea and Australia in value, but still lags behind China and Japan, according to research by Media Partners Asia (MPA).
The industry earned $13 billion this year and revenue is expected to increase to $17 billion by 2028.
The Asia-Pacific video industry as a whole grew 5.5% to $145 billion this year, with online video sales rising by 13% to $57 billion. Nevertheless, TV revenues increased by less than 1% to $98 billion, according to MPA, a consulting firm that specializes in media and telecoms in the Asia Pacific.
According to the research, paid TV subscription fees increased uniformly throughout Asia-Pacific outside of China, but revenue fell in significant economies such as Japan and India.
