On Thursday, the leader of the Jamiat Ulema e Islam, a prominent Islamic party in Pakistan, Fazl ul Rehman, has accused top military leaders of overthrowing Ex-PM Imran Khan’s government, a claim echoed by his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI since their leader was removed from power.
In April 2022, Imran Khan, was ousted from power as a Prime Minister through a no-confidence vote initiated by opposition parties. The vote followed a period of intense political turmoil.

Despite accusations from the PTI that Imran Khan's removal was orchestrated by the US, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of JUI-F, alleged during a Samaa TV live talk show that the former Chief of Army Genernal (rtd) Qamar Javed Bajwa played a role in toppling the PTI government.

Thus, this political Pandora's box opened when PML (N) has announced its plan to form a coalition government with the help of other parties especially taking concern PPP party.

Ousting Imran Khan's Government in 2022

Mualana Fazl ul Rehman, who was once the leader of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) coalition against Imran Khan, claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Pakistan Peoples Party PPP were behind the no-confidence motion, but the core plan and conspiracy was made by Ex Chief of Army Gen Bajwa and the former head of Pakistan’s Intelligence agency Faiz Hameed.

Additionally, he said to the Samaa TV News anchor that during the entire process and alleged conspiracy, General Bajwa and General Faiz Hameed were in contact with them while they were part of the PDM at that time.

However, for the past year, PTI party and its leaderships have been claiming that the removal of Imran Khan's government was orchestrated by the establishment, and today, one of the key leaders of PDM is revealing the truth about the role of Pakistani intelligence in the country's politics.

Fazl, the leader of JUI (F) further claimed that his defeat in the election was a result of his proactive stance on Afghanistan, and his party was only targeted by pro-American factions due to its efforts to improve Afghan-Pakistani relations and bolster the Taliban's authority in Kabul.
The leader of JUI (F) party has accused the election commission of manipulating the parliamentary elections, asserting that the legislative authority in Pakistan has been diminished, and future decisions will be influenced by public demonstrations.
