Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will resume his 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' on Tuesday after being granted bail in a defamation case dating back to August 2018.Gandhi was summoned by the district civil court in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on 19 February.The court has scheduled the next hearing in the case for 2 March.The defamation case was filed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician and former vice-president Vijay Mishra, who accused Gandhi of making objectionable remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a press conference in Bengaluru on 8 May 2018.Earlier in the day, Congress general secretary in charge of communications Jairam Ramesh said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that neither Rahul Gandhi would be silenced nor would the Indian National Congress be intimidated by the summons.He further said that the 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra', which entered its 38th day, will start from Fursatganj in Amethi district at 2 pm (IST) and proceed towards Raebareli and Lucknow.Gandhi's ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, will cover 6,700 kilometres across 15 states ahead of the Lok Sabha elections due in March-April this year.The Congress MP's yatra is an attempt to corner the ruling BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The defamation case against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi was filed in 2018 by Bharatiya Janata Party politician Vijay Mishra, who accused him of making derogatory remarks about Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will resume his 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' on Tuesday after being granted bail in a defamation case dating back to August 2018.
Gandhi was summoned by the district civil court in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on 19 February.
The court has scheduled the next hearing in the case for 2 March.

“This morning Rahul Gandhi will be at the District Civil Court in Sultanpur that had issued a summons to him 36 hours earlier to appear before it on a defamation case filed by a BJP leader in August 2018. Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will not be derailed. Rahul Gandhi will not be silenced. The Indian National Congress will not be intimidated,” Ramesh said in a tweet in Hindi.
He further said that the 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra', which entered its 38th day, will start from Fursatganj in Amethi district at 2 pm (IST) and proceed towards Raebareli and Lucknow.
