The newly elected government in Islamabad has been planning to bring in several changes in the country's political system.
Pakistan's new government has decided to abolish the caretaker setup and reform the electoral process, Pakistani media report has said.

The country's ruling coalition partners - PML-N and PPP - have agreed that the head of an outgoing government will remain in office until fresh general elections are held, eliminating the need for a caretaker government, Tribune newspaper reported.

Also, pushing for electoral reforms in the country, the two ruling parties said the prime minister's cabinet would be dissolved after his term ends but the person would continue to serve, it said.
The ruling partners will seek support from other parties on the proposed reforms.
The alliance partners are also planning to go for at least three major constitutional amendments, including abolishing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
