In an interview with Russian media, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov dismissed western media claims that India was "abandoning" Russian weapon systems.
"India has already produced almost 1,000 T-90 tanks and 300 Su-30MKI aircraft under licenses, Ambassador Denis Alipov said on Thursday.
"The practice of creating joint ventures and business partnerships is expanding. The most successful example is the Brahmos missile systems. The Indo-Russian Rifles joint venture is currently operating to produce AK-203 rifles. And we are stepping up dialogue in the field of R&D, exploring the prospects of jointly entering third-country markets. Unlike Western countries, Russia is ready to fully transfer advanced technologies."
India is growing more confident in its position as a future global power and a new economic locomotive, he said, adding that Bharat "rightfully sees itself as one of the leading centers in the emerging multipolar world order."
