Polling stations for voting in the Russian presidential elections opened on Sunday in New Delhi and four other Indian cities, the Russian Embassy told Sputnik.

Presidential candidate and incumbent head of state Vladimir Putin receives the support of the absolute majority of Russians in the election-2024 – the number of votes for him has exceeded 57.1 million.
Vladimir Putin has won 85.13 per cent of the vote after 100 per cent of the ballots are processed in Moscow.
Meanwhile, other presidential candidates Davankov received 6.65 pre cent, Kharitonov got 3.84 per cent, and Slutsky secured 2.83 per cent of the votes, according to the Central Election Commission.
Earlier, the Central Election Commission had reported that Putin had received 87.15 per cent of votes till 80 per cent of votes were counted.
The presidential elections in Russia concluded on Sunday at 9 PM. According to the pre-election poll published by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center 'VCIOM', the current President Vladimir Putin is leading with 87% of the votes.
The Communist Party of Russia's candidate, Nikolai Kharitonov, is in second place with 3.94% of the votes, followed by the New People party's candidate, Vladislav Davankov, with 3.82% of the votes. The leader of the Russian Democratic Party, Leonid Slutsky, received only 2.99% of the votes.
The Chief of the Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, stated that approximately 73.33% of the country's population participated in the voting, which is higher than the previous elections. The final election results are expected to be announced by the Election Commission by March 28th.
