India's main opposition party, the Indian National Congress, released its manifesto for the upcoming national polls.Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge released the manifesto in Delhi in the presence of his predecessor Rahul Gandhi and former party boss Sonia Gandhi.Among the core issues that have found prominence in the Congress manifesto are job creation and infrastructure development.The main theme of the Congress document is "work", "wealth", and "welfare".On the other hand, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI(M) has promised to scrap the country's military agreements with the US and Israel if it comes to power in the forthcoming national polls.The political outfit pledged in its manifesto, which it released in New Delhi on Thursday, that it would work to "exit from alliances, like India-US Defense Framework Agreement" and the QUAD alliance.Moreover, the declaration mentioned that CPI(M) would make all efforts to close down all military bases in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), especially the American base in Diego Garcia.Besides the US, the CPI(M) announced that it would scrap "all security and military ties with Israel and demand UN-imposed sanctions" on the Jewish state.However, it is worth mentioning that the CPI(M) has only three MPs in the Lok Sabha, and is in no position to implement these changes in the Indian Parliament due to lack of numbers there.

Indian Congress Releases Manifesto Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections
General elections in India are scheduled to take place from April 19 to June 1 and political parties have already started releasing their manifestos. Among them, one has made a bold promise related to the country's security ties with the US and Israel.
India's main opposition party, the Indian National Congress, released its manifesto for the upcoming national polls.
Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge released the manifesto in Delhi in the presence of his predecessor Rahul Gandhi and former party boss Sonia Gandhi.
Among the core issues that have
found prominence in the Congress manifesto are job creation and infrastructure development.
The main theme of the Congress document is "work", "wealth", and "welfare".
"'Work' means you must provide jobs. 'Wealth' must be created before it is distributed. 'Welfare' means taking care of the poorer sections," the party said.
On the other hand, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI(M) has promised to scrap the country's military agreements with the US and Israel if it comes to power in the forthcoming national polls.
The political outfit pledged in its manifesto, which it released in New Delhi on Thursday, that it would work to "exit from alliances, like India-US Defense Framework Agreement" and the QUAD alliance.
"Withdrawal from the strategic alliance of the US and oppose its policies of intervention, sanctions and regime change in sovereign countries," the CPI(M) document noted.
Moreover, the declaration mentioned that CPI(M) would make all efforts to close down all military bases in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), especially the American base in Diego Garcia.
