Watch: DRDO Successful Flight Test Indigenous Technology Subsonic Cruise Missile
The indigenous long-range subsonic cruise missile, developed by the Bengaluru-based DRDO laboratory Aeronautical Development Establishment, in collaboration with other labs and Indian industries, is equipped with state-of-the-art avionics and software to ensure better and reliable performance.
India's Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), on Thursday, achieved a milestone with the successful flight test of an indigenous technology cruise missile from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur off the coast of Odisha.
The DRDO took to X and shared a video of the
flight test of the long-range subsonic cruise missile powered by an indigenous propulsion system developed by Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE).
The missile's performance was monitored by several range sensors, such as radar, electro-optical tracking systems (EOTS), and telemetry deployed by ITR at various locations to ensure complete coverage throughout the missile's flight path.
The
Indian Air Force's Su-30-Mk-I aircraft also monitored the missile's flight and provided real-time updates and trajectory data.
