The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has unveiled its ambitious roadmap for the upcoming second mission to Mars 'Mangalyaan-2', signifying a remarkable stride in India's pursuit of space exploration.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) recently announced on its official social media platform that the upcoming Mangalyaan-2, also known as Mars Lander Mission, will showcase an impressive array of advanced technologies including a state-of-the-art rover, a relay Mars orbiter, a cutting-edge helicopter, a supersonic parachute, and an innovative sky crane.
The sky crane, carrying the rover, will be deployed using the powerful Launch Vehicle Mark-III (LVM3), while the Mars relay orbiter will be launched by the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).
As part of Mangalyaan -2 mission, orbiter will be deployed to closely orbit around Mars. Among these orbiters, the Communication Relay Orbiter (CRO) will be specifically designed to establish communication with Landrishi Jodel, the Indian spacecraft set to land on Mars.
The orbiter will be equipped with visible and near-infrared (VNIR) and infrared (IR) cameras to record the dynamics of the Martian atmosphere.

This is the second Mars Mission after the success of Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM).
With this mission, ISRO is ambitiously aiming to join the elite club of countries that have successfully landed spacecraft on the Red Planet.
The Mangalyaan 2 project is slated to be launched in 2031.
This exciting venture highlights ISRO's relentless commitment to pushing the boundaries of scientific exploration and reinforces India's prominent position in the field of space technology.
