Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said the shift was unavoidable, noting that Asia has already secured substantial "demographic, technological, and financial advantages."
Asia is set to emerge as the world's dominant centre, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said.
The BRICS group and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) forms the institutional foundation of the new world order, Orban told a summit in Băile Tusnad, Romania.
"What we are now facing is a change in the world system. This is a process that begins from Asia," Orban said.
He argued that, over the coming decades and potentially centuries, Asia — specifically India, China, Pakistan, and Indonesia — will become the world's dominant centre.
He also pointed out that the foundation for change is already being established with the formation of BRICS and the SCO.

Orban described the shift as inevitable, citing that Asia has already gained significant "demographic, technological, and capital advantages."

The BRICS group was established in 2006, originally consisting of Brazil, Russia, India, and China, with South Africa joining in 2011.
Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia officially became full members on January 1, 2024.
