Singh is also expected to visit Moscow to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Andrey Belousov and discuss further strengthening of defence ties and exploring new areas of collaboration between India and Russia.This visit follows the 2018 contract between India and Russia for the delivery of four frigates (known as Project 11356). Two of the vessels are being built at the Baltic Shipyard Yantar in Kaliningrad, while the remaining are under construction at Goa Shipyard Limited in India.These frigates are designed for versatile combat roles, capable of engaging enemy surface ships, submarines, and aerial threats in both littoral and open-ocean environments.The advanced warships are equipped with a range of sophisticated weaponry, including 100mm A-190 artillery, missile systems, anti-aircraft defences, torpedoes, and have the ability to deploy anti-submarine helicopters.

13:40 26.11.2024 (Updated: 15:53 26.11.2024) Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to travel to Russia from December 8 to 10 to participate in the flag-raising ceremony for the Project 11356R frigate in Kaliningrad and its official transfer to the Indian Navy, according to Russian media citing defence sources.
Singh is also expected to visit Moscow to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Andrey Belousov and discuss further strengthening of defence ties and exploring
new areas of collaboration between India and Russia.
