India and Russia have discussed the prospects of collaborating in joint energy projects in both countries, a senior Indian official told Sputnik India on the sidelines of the India Energy Week 2025 in New Delhi on Wednesday.The discussions took place at the India-Russia Roundtable during the event.He said that prospects of Indian investments in Russia were also discussed in the roundtable, where around five to six Russian companies, including Pao Novatek, participated.The official also rejected reports that India has had any concerns about the sanctions on the Russian energy sector, stating that there was "enough oil available on the market".Addressing a press conference on the margins of India Energy Week, Pankaj Jain, Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said that Indian companies were represented in "significant numbers" at the roundtable with Russia.Jain said that the meeting was co-chaired by himself and Pavel Sorokin, Russia's first deputy Energy Minister. Sorokin also held a bilateral meeting with Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Tuesday.

Russia, India's biggest crude supplier, is one of the 10 countries having a pavilion at the ongoing India Energy Week. Major Russian companies such as Pao Novatek and Sberbank have stalls at the global energy conference.
India and Russia have discussed the prospects of collaborating in joint energy projects in both countries, a senior Indian official told Sputnik India on the sidelines of the India Energy Week 2025 in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The discussions took place at the India-Russia Roundtable during the event.
The official said that Russian companies were looking to invest in various areas of India's energy sector, including in crude, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and renewables among others.
He said that prospects of
Indian investments in Russia were also discussed in the roundtable, where around five to six Russian companies, including Pao Novatek, participated.
The official also rejected reports that India has had any concerns about the sanctions on the Russian energy sector, stating that there was "enough oil available on the market".
India's policy on importing crude was to issue tenders at the "point of importation" and then it was the responsibility of the supplier to transport crude to Indian companies, the official reiterated.
Addressing a press conference on the margins of India Energy Week, Pankaj Jain, Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said that Indian companies were represented in "significant numbers" at the roundtable with Russia.
